The Bob Hamman Bridge Challenge off the successful start.
![]() |
It was a small attendance of 20 bridge players - 5 teams, but this is just a start and a good one, considering the fact, that nobody had received the latest issue of the Kibitzer with tournaments advertisement, which got lost some where in a printing shop or US snail-mail offices on a way to it's addresses. But according to the "lucky" players, who attend the bridge game, it could not be any better. Every team played four other teams in 7 boards matches - 28 boards in less than 3.5 hours - special thanks to the tournament directing experience of Peter WILKE. More than 34 ACBL Silver points were awarded - every player in room got some: from 0.26 for a single win to 2.5 to the winners. $100 in cash prices were given away as well (1st place - $60, 2nd - $30, and 3rd - $10). Come to experience yourself an up-scale atmosphere of the Team Effort next Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. and play in 3rd tournament of BHC 2005-06. For registration and more information call 847-778-5259. Pic.1: Team Effort Bridge club, which will host most of the tournaments of the BHC 2005-06 open up it doors this Tuesday. How much one can expect to pay to play bridge in such setting? This year price is right! For everybody, who will register at least 1 day in an advance - it is FREE. The minimum - $5 per player contribution to the Price Money Pool is required. (Team may choose to increase their contribution and chance to win more money). Pic.2: Team captained by Bert MURPHY won all 4 matches, 10 ACBL points and $60 US dollars. Bert is a declarer and his partner Les KENT is dummy, are sitting N-S. In East -West direction are Harvey SHIFRIN and Roman BRAGINSKIY, they won only one match and took home just 0.26 of ACBL point... and invaluable tournament experience. Roman is relatively new to the duplicate bridge - he is not yet a member of ACBL, but he is coming back next Tuesday. Pic.3: The hospitality corner and after games analysis for the runners - up team.
